Today, PARAZIT is one of the most striking creative initiatives in St. Petersburg, whose participants use the principle of artistic parasitism, creating spontaneous exhibitions in unobvious spaces of cultural institutions. The experimental project "Cubby with putty" seems to close the circle — artists fill the corridor space with a clean, commercial-free creative expression, not denying, but on the contrary enhancing its "auxiliary" function. Kolya Sadovnik, like a sad painter, creates large-scale paintings full of expression and concreteness, manifested in the glib titles of the works: "Delightfully sad Hindustan", "Before the holiday", "Mishenka fights with Svetlana Sergeevna". The second artist of the "back room", Dmitry Zheravov, makes trellises from canvases and oil paints, struggling with the dampness that irritates on autumn days. Semyon Motolyanets comes up with a device made of a bicycle tire with letter-shaped slots that can moderate the excessively bright, blinding light of lamps in dark corridors.
Artists are once again faced with the question of the possibilities of art, the subject of its interests and the zone of influence. There is always the possibility of finding new art nearby: for example, in places hidden from view, previously inaccessible to the public, where time whispers its secret stories. The project "Closet with Putty" reveals artistic practice from a new perspective, presenting it not as a privilege, but as one of the types of work.
