MAXIM IMA (born 1987)


Artist, curator of exhibitions and public art projects. 

One of the key figures of Russian street art. Member of the creative association 10.203.

In the context of street practice, he is best known for his ironic and sarcastic text works, in which he discusses the value of art and the graffiti subculture, as well as abstract works with recognizable artistic handwriting.


From 2010 to 2015, he worked as an assistant curator at the Protvor Exhibition Hall, founded by Maria Novikova-Savelyeva.

The main character of the film Cracks directed by Pavel Nikiforov about the life of a street artist. The film won the BeatFilm Festival award. 

In 2021, he created the first graffiti in the walls of the Marble Palace, repeating his street work of 2017, especially for the exhibition The Generation of Thirty-year-olds in modern Russian Art. 

Curator of the New Ruins series of projects for the Manege Central Exhibition Hall.

He is the curator of the New Port project, which included the design of several facilities in the Yamal village. A film about the project was presented at the Spirit of Fire Film Festival.
