Born in 1970 in the city of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region (Ukraine). From 1987 to 1992 studied at the Krivoy Rog State Pedagogical Institute, Department of natural sciences, specializing in biology, chemistry. Sergey Katran works with objects and installations, researching the interaction between motion and sound. Often, his works are similar to complex inventions which experience the limits of art.
