The Vinzavod Center for Contemporary Art has opened a new exhibition in the field of the Archive Research Institute (Science Research Art Archive) — "It was with me," curated by Victor Misiano.
The exhibition "It was with me", curated by Victor Misiano, brought together 10 artists whose work is associated with the CSI Vinzavod, and is located in two halls – the White Workshop and the Red Workshop. Dmitry Gutov, Jan Ginzburg, Irina Korina, Vladimir Logutov, Sergey Sapozhnikov, Evgeny Granilshchikov, Alexandra Sukhareva, Dima Filippov, Ivan Novikov, Peter Bely presented a retrospective look at their projects and created new works in dialogue with themselves, space and the past.
"In this exhibition, I wanted to use different formats and approaches to understanding history and lived experience. I decided to focus on live research and live archive. How the past is perceived today, how it has settled in the memory, in the experience of people who continue to work and create based on this legacy. I conceived the idea of an exhibition based on a dialogue with artists for whom the Winery has become an important place in their careers, a place through which their personal destiny has passed," Victor Misiano
Jan Ginzburg has put together an "interpretation of interpretation" of his 2017 exhibition "The Mechanical Beetle".
Peter Bely presented the project "Pause" with saws frozen in space and time like a freeze frame.
