Dogs have been accompanying humans for centuries, becoming not only devoted companions, but also heroes of works of art. Their images are captured in painting, graphics, sculpture — from ancient times to the present. They symbolize loyalty, devotion and the joy of life, and their images adorn the masterpieces of world art. The Russian Museum, together with the Association of Art Museums of Russia, presents the digital exhibition "Paw for Happiness" dedicated to these amazing creatures. More than 15 museums participated in the project, providing over 100 digital copies of paintings, drawings and sculptures depicting dogs. The exhibition continues to be updated with new works, revealing to the audience more and more facets of the "dog" theme in art. This is a unique opportunity to see how artists from different eras and styles conveyed the character and emotions of our four-legged friends.
