"Power of silence" is a minimalist, interactive exhibit. It consists of murals and sound installations, giving the spectator an active and visceral experience replete with sound vibrations and absorbing visual displays.

The first part of the exhibit is purely aural, containing songs of Buddhist monks, resonance of ringing bells and meditative Sri Yantra.

The second part contains three collections of murals. All of them appear wrapped in fog and smoke, but upon closer inspection, one begins to recognize various objects:

  • skyscrapers of New York ("Harmony in Artificial")
  • mountains of Patagonia ("Harmony in Natural"),
  • the Moon, caught it its most active moment in the last 500 years in August 2003 ("Harmony in Absolute"),

  • or something else...

The purpose of this project is to create sensations and inspire feelings that are felt by many of us when faced with a borderline experience of reality:

  • between dreaming and awakening,
  • between the light and the dark,
  • at the moment of making a crucially important decision.

  • The unclear image is critical. In a way, it is the author's attempt to answer the question by L. Wittgenstein: "Is it really always necessary to replace an unclear image with a clear one? Isn't often an unclear image exactly what we are looking for?"

The creators of this installation are specialists in psychology and anthropology. Through the study of archaic cultural symbols they have concluded that the modern world has lost its natural self-regulatory mechanism of maintaining balance. For them, "Power of silence" is really a ritual. It is represented by means of special communication, which assumes integrity of the world, where various codes lose their perceived differentiating function.
