Lyudwig was born and educated in St Petersburg, Russia and moved to New York in 1995.
He has always had a deep interest in psychology and philosophy and has done studies in these
fields during his extensive travels. Lyudwig participated in several multimedia projects and
exhibits in St Petersburg, New York, Paris, London, and Moscow. He did a special video project
for the Russian State Museum in St Petersburg. Lyudwig's work is also represented in the
collection of the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
According to Lyudwig, "The key is to allow the path to capture you; then, a distinction between
the path and the meaning disappears." In his pictures, foggy and unclear -without the contrasts
that we are so accustomed to - objects carry unusual functions, sharpening the perception.
